1. What do these acoustic foam products actually do?
They reduce echo and tame low-mid/bass buildup for clearer, more accurate sound.
These charcoal acoustic foam pieces work as corner bass traps and 4-inch acoustic wall panels to absorb reflections and shorten decay time. In a home studio or home theater, that means tighter bass, better vocal intelligibility, and more reliable mixing.
2. Will this soundproof my room?
No—these absorb sound inside the room; they don’t block sound from leaving it.
Sound absorption (what foam does) is different from soundproofing (isolation with mass, decoupling, and sealing). These acoustic panels and corner bass traps reduce echoes and room modes, but neighbors will still hear loud volumes unless you build isolation.
3. How many do I need to start?
For small rooms, begin with 2 packs of corner traps and 1 pack of 4″ panels, then add as needed.
One Corner Bass Traps pack (12″×12″×24″, pack of 4) covers 8 linear feet of corner (four 24″ pieces). One 4″ Panel pack (24″×36″, pack of 4) covers 24 sq ft. Treat front wall corners first, then add 4″ acoustic panels at first reflections and the rear wall; scale up if decay is still long.
4. Where should I place corner bass traps and 4″ panels?
Put corner bass traps in wall-wall or wall-ceiling corners with the triangular face toward the room. Place 4-inch acoustic panels at left/right first reflection points (use the mirror trick), above as a ceiling cloud, and on the rear wall to reduce slap echo.
5. Do 4″ panels work better with an air gap?
Yes—leaving a 2–4″ air gap shifts absorption lower and improves efficiency.
Spacing 4″ acoustic panels off the wall increases low-frequency performance (great for home studio mixing). Simple wood standoffs or Z-clips do the trick and keep your install clean.
6. Will these fix very low bass (60–100 Hz) boomy issues?
They help upper-bass; deep sub-bass needs more volume or tuned traps.
Open-cell foam shines from mids into upper-bass. For heavy problems below ~150 Hz, add more corner volume (bigger wedges/superchunks) or tuned membrane traps, then use our foam bass traps and 4″ panels to smooth the rest.

Shipping Details
Your order may arrive vacuum-packed or compressed for efficient shipping. This packaging method does not harm the foam in any way. Please open your package within 7 days of delivery and allow 24 hours for the foam to fully expand and return to its original shape.
Returns & Exchanges
Due to the custom nature of our foam products, we do not accept returns or exchanges on mattress toppers unless there is a manufacturing defect. If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery, and we will work to resolve the issue.
